On September 13, 2009, Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, George Iowa,
will celebrate 100 years of growth and heritage. Plans have been
underway to celebrate this historic event since October 2007, and
you are needed to be part of the planning and carrying out of
celebration activities.
The Centennial Steering Committee was established earlier this year
and has been active since October 2007. Appointed to the Committee
are; Kenneth and Elaine Hinsch, Bob and Marlene Kannegieter, Wanda
Koger and Lois Nagel.
A Century with Christ has been selected as our centennial theme. Our
centennial scripture base is from 1 Samuel 7:12 He named it
Ebenezer, Saying Thus Far has the Lord Helped us. The centennial
hymn is The Family of God.
It will take many people to make our centennial celebration
successful. Events that have been woven into our heritage need to be
depicted and remembered in a variety of ways. Those who have been a
part of the heritage for a considerable time have special memories
and talents to offer. Those who have been associated with our church
family or membership for a shorter period of time, also bring a
special perspective to our reason to rejoice in a history that is
rich with events and people.
There are many people with many talents in this church family
available to make 100 years of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, George
Iowa an event that we can celebrate and rejoice in with great
satisfaction.
Together, we can make the centennial an event that will lay the
groundwork for our second century of Christian fellowship and
growth.
